Installation of the new Master and Wardens

for 2011-2012

 

At a ceremony held at Drapers' Hall on Tuesday, 7 June 2011, the following were installed for the ensuing year:

Master - Mr Nigel Churton MBE
IPM - Mr Don Randall MBE
Senior Warden - Mr Gerald Moor
Middle Warden - Mr Brian Hughes
Junior Warden - Mr Barrie Stewart

Mr Jamie Marment was also installed as a Steward of the Company; he joins Mr Steve Emmins, who is in his second year as Steward.

The Master congratulates Liveryman Jamie Marment as new Company Steward

 

Following his installation, and with the help of the Senior Warden, Beadle and Clerk, Nigel Churton lead 20 members through the ceremonial for bestowing Freedom of the Company; all new Freemen were heartily welcomed by the Court and wished a long a fulfilling association with the Company.

 

With all the ceremonial completed, the Master hosted his Installation Luncheon at which he was joined by 267 Company guests, Liverymen, Freemen, Members and their guests. During the luncheon (which was generously sponsored by Knightsbridge Guarding), the RAF Regiment NCO Leadership Award 2011 was made to Cpl Mike Gardner of 501 (County of Gloucester) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force; Cpl Gardner was presented with the Ben Flenley Bowl, which has been inscribed with his name and rank. The Master also presented Cadet Cpl Yaana Buttinger - 1454 (Harrow) Squadron ATC - with a donation cheque for the Corps.

Gerald Moor undertook his first task as Senior Warden in welcoming the Company guests, which included Masters from five other Livery companies, representatives from the RAF Regiment and the Chairman of the Security Institute; Sir David Veness responded with a toast on behalf of the guests.

 

As a conclusion to the lunch, IPM Don Randall presented certificates for the newly established Register of Chartered Security Professional.
